Engineering of Neo-Lectins and Janus Lectins

Simona Notova

This research will involve the engineering of lectins in order to control their architectures, valency  and binding sites.  Novel lectins will be constructed by fusing β-propeller domains to carbohydrate-binding modules with different specificities. The neo-lectins and janus lectins will be characterised by biophysical methods (x-ray crystallography, SAXS, microcalorimetry, surface plasmon resonance). They will be adapted to the need of the other teams, as tools to characterise the surface of cells and of vesicles, or to associate them by cross-linking.
